2010 has started with a bang for Johnson Consulting
Group. Our program design and evaluation
practice continues to grow and expand. Here's
a brief snapshot of some of the exciting projects
we're working on in 2010.
-
Central Hudson Gas &
Electric: Working
with Applied Energy Group, Katherine drafted the
three-year evaluation plans for Central Hudson's
new portfolio of residential and small
commercial DSM programs. Katherine has
also led the first-year process evaluations of
Central Hudson's
SavingsCentral
programs targeting residential and commercial
gas and electric customers. The first-year
process evaluations will be completed in the
first quarter of 2010.
-
Columbia Gas of Virginia: Columbia Gas of Virginia's newly-launched
CARE portfolio of energy efficiency programs.
Columbia will devote $8.5 million over three
years (2010-2012) to implement these energy
efficiency programs. Columbia is one of
the nine energy distribution companies of
NiSource, Inc. (NYSE: NI). Johnson
Consulting Group will be developing the EM&V
plans for these new residential and small
commercial programs, and then will be leading
the program evaluation activities and will be
teaming with colleagues at Summit Blue
Consulting (now part of Navigant Consulting).
-
Riverside Public Utilities:
Extending its long
association with the municipal utilities in
California, Johnson Consulting Group and the
team from Summit Blue (now with Navigant
Consulting) has completed its first round of
program evaluation activities for
Riverside Public Utilities. This
builds on the previously-completed EM&V work
conducted for Northern California municipal
utilities (managed through NCPA) and now
includes Southern California municipal utilities
(managed through SCPPA). JCG will be
completing additional process evaluation
activities for these Southern California
municipal utilities throughout the first quarter
of 2010.
-
Western Area Power
Administration: JCG
will continue to support Western
in the development and deployment of
several workshops to its members throughout the
Great Plains region. Currently, plans are
underway to develop a series of workshops on
Advances in Water Heating Technologies and
"Best Practices" in Water Heating Programs.
Details for these workshops will be finalized in
the next few months.

Johnson Consulting Group continues to work on a variety of
new and exciting projects promoting energy efficiency
programs across the U.S. and Canada. These opportunities
include helping utility staff learn more about ways to
promote energy efficient technologies as well as
expanding our work in energy efficient program design and
evaluation. We look forward to helping our clients
design, implement and deliver effective energy
efficiency programs during these exciting and challenging times
in the DSM industry.
Since our work involves
both residential and commercial customers in publications
of all sorts, we want to highlight the analytical nature
of what we do, without being too intimidating.
We are a professional yet approachable
group; you'll get top notch analysis and good ideas,
but you don't need to be a rocket scientist to read
and fully understand our reports.
