It is hardly the lazy days of summer at Johnson
Consulting Group. We've been busy completing
the first phases of some projects and are looking
forward to expanding work in new areas. Here's
a quick update of what we've been doing this summer:
-
Western Area Power
Administration: JCG will
continue to support Western in the development
and deployment of several workshops to its
members throughout the Great Plains region.
Tri-State and Western are co-hosting a day-long workshop
focusing on
"Advances in Water Heating Technologies" in
the Denver area on August 31. Speakers
will include representatives from Rheem/Marathon,
GE, Steffe, and UMC.
-
Columbia Gas of Virginia:
The EM&V plans are completed as is the baseline
study of energy awareness among residential and
commerc ial
customers. In the fall, JCG will start the
process evaluations of first year of operatons
for the WarmWise Program.
-
EmPower Maryland: JCG is
a subcontractor to Navigant Consulting for this
multi-year evaluation of Maryland utility
programs. We've been working on some of
the EM&V plans and wil be involved in the
process evaluation activities in the next couple
of months.
-
"Water Heaters - the
Forgotten Appliance"
-
coming this fall.
Katherine will be
developing this new guide that will summarize
Best Practices in water heating programs as well
as explain new water heating technologies.
The guide is drawn from a review of the leading
utility water heating programs around the
country. This
"fuel-neutral guide" will be published later
this fall. It will also provide
up-to-date information from leading water
heating manufacturers including Rheem/Marathon
and GE and discuss the role of water heating as
a renewable energy strategy.

Johnson Consulting Group continues to work on a variety of
new and exciting projects promoting energy efficiency
programs across the U.S. and Canada. These opportunities
include helping utility staff learn more about ways to
promote energy efficient technologies as well as
expanding our work in energy efficient program design and
evaluation. We look forward to helping our clients
design, implement and deliver effective energy
efficiency programs during these exciting and challenging times
in the DSM industry.
Since our work involves
both residential and commercial customers in publications
of all sorts, we want to highlight the analytical nature
of what we do, without being too intimidating.
We are a professional yet approachable
group; you'll get top notch analysis and good ideas,
but you don't need to be a rocket scientist to read
and fully understand our reports.
